Winter food.

Potoato, butternut and apple mash, green peas, cranberry sauce, fried onions, raw kale salad.

In one week, we're moving out of our apartment, out of  Hallsberg and in to the bigger city Örebro 20 km north. Our apartment will be twice the size, we will be close to our friends and more fun things around the corner. I can't wait. This also means packing stuff in boxes. This activity will make you hungry, and the meal shown above is perfect on the afternoon while the sun is setting, already at 15.18!

The cranberry sauce above is made with cranberries picked by me in Ljusdal, Hälsingland last autumn.

Lucia spends her days mostly sleeping. Preferably on my chest.

Veggie Shepard's Pie

It's Sunday. It's November. It's only appropriate that the sky is gray and the air is filled with tiny drops of rain that never seems to land on the ground. It's also very appropriate to invite a friend over for Sunday lunch. I made a veggie shepard's pie  with soy mince and carrots as the filling and mashed potatoes with lemon and mustard on top. That with a lot of lingonberry jam on the side makes any gray November day better.

I love these little white berries that will make loud pop-sounds if stomped.

Taco Pie.

Taco Pie. Easy peasy, Just make a pie shell and press it out in the pan. I spiced up some soy mince with tomato, chipotle and "taco seasoning" and filled the pie with that. Baked for about 30 minutes and topped with diced cucumber and lettuce. Serve with salsa. Guacamole would be fantastic as a side as well.
